Achieving Safety, Equity & Dignity: Time’s Up in Healthcare

The event was hosted by the UF College of Medicine – Jacksonville Division of Cardiology and the UF Health Women’s Cardiovascular Program in collaboration with the Dean’s Office for Inclusion and Equity and the UF Health Jacksonville Diversity Council. The event featured guest speaker Sharonne N. Hayes, MD, professor of cardiovascular medicine at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, and focused on the scope and impact of harassment and gender-based disparities in the health care workforce. Strategies that can be utilized at the University of Florida that support the equity tenets of TIME’S UP Healthcare to improve safety, dignity and equity in health care were also discussed. UF Health Jacksonville CEO and dean of the UF College of Medicine – Jacksonville, Leon L. Haley, Jr., MD, officially signed a commitment to the core principles of Time’s Up in Healthcare on behalf of the enterprise.
